Social Media in the B2B space has become a hot topic lately.  Companies are using the social space to get themselves found and attract new leads and business opportunities.  One of the major players in B2B social media is LinkedIn.  As I work to raise awareness within my organization of the importance of buy-in from all company personnel in the adoption of social media practices, I’m surprised by how few actually follow best practices.

I recently shared this presentation on how to optimize your LinkedIn profile for search.  The techniques outlined in this presentation can assist you in improving your search result rank both within in the LinkedIn search function, and in other search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and Bing.

In the B2B space, social media isn’t just about your content.  You have an employee base, all of whom should be considered a touch point into your organization.  Each employee should be educated and encouraged to utilize social media following your company’s best practices and optimizing their profiles.
